Shasta Mine Loop
THE BEST PART: Nice view, interesting mining features. 3.1 mile loop has lots of ups and downs and somehow manages to be steep both ways.
FEES: Required throughout the park, $5 a day or $25 for the year (also good at Lassen). Administered by National Park Service
HAZARDS: Rattlesnakes, bears and mountain lions are occasionally
encountered, lots ticks, poison oak along trails. Very popular with equestrians and bikers.
