THE BEST PART: Nice view, interesting mining features. 3.1 mile loop has lots of ups and downs and somehow manages to be steep both ways.

HAZARDS: Rattlesnakes, bears and mountain lions are occasionally encountered, lots ticks, poison oak along trails. Very popular with equestrians and bikers.
