THE BEST PART: Quiet, paved, double-wide trail that is nearly flat from the Sacramento River Rail Trail to Iron Mt Road. After Iron Mountain Rd, the trail gets a little steeper as it follows the old Middle Creek Road along the edge of the creek canyon. Little traffic.

LEASHES: Optional

HAZARDS: Rattlesnakes and ticks are common, bears and mountain lions possible

USER FAVORITES: Wander around the curiously abandoned mining park at the west end of the trail
