THE BEST PART: Little used, easy access off Clear Creek Rd, 8 minutes from SH 273, NICE sandy, slow creek access under the Clear Creek bridge.

FEE: None

LEASHES: Not required

HAZARDS: Ticks, rarely rattlesnakes, mountain lions and bears, not as many spring mosquitoes as lower on Clear Creek. LOTS of blackberries, star thistle, begger's lice and foxtail in summer. Water can be swift south/east of the bridge. This area is remote and, judging from the graffiti, attracts a rougher crowd so be safe.

USER FAVORITES: Park at Horsetown trailhead, go under the bridge and take the trail 1/10 mile to a beautiful, slow sandy ford (photo above). Trail Map
